Read on to know more about the leading password managers in 2022. - **Topic:** [Reviews](https://urbanpixel.io/blog/category/reviews) - **Published:** 23 Mar 2022 - **Written by:** lou - **Reading time:** 4 min [Picture: The 3 Best Password Managers to Use in 2022] Gone are the times when a handful of simple and straightforward passwords were good enough for most people. With an increasing amount of financial and other personal data being saved online, hard-to-crack passwords – and safe ways of storing those passwords – have become more important than ever.  A study conducted by Keeper Security revealed that, out of all data breaches, [81% are caused by weak passwords](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/data-breach.asp). The research further asserted that every organizational data breach costs an average of $7 million to the victim company.  This is where password managers come into play. They not only allow you to develop complex passwords but also automatically log you into websites so that you do not have to remember these passwords. In this blog, we will be covering a few of the leading password managers currently available.  ## **The Best Password Managers to Use in 2022:** ### **1\. LastPass:** [Picture: LastPass homepage, “Password Management from Anywhere”, shown on a MacBook Pro mockup.] LastPass is number one on this list due to its intuitiveness, compatibility with every major platform, and a wide variety of features.  Both the paid and free versions of this tool have pretty much the same features, including secure storage, unlimited passwords, and password generators. The only difference is that the paid version now only syncs with your mobile or computer device (instead of syncing across all your devices as it used to do until recently).  Some of the other features that you get with the premium version are: keys for two-factor authentication, online storage worth 1GB, dark-web account monitoring, and top-class tech support.  Set Up Your Master Password & Let [***LastPass***](http://lastpass.wo8g.net/3P7zrM) Take Care Of The Rest. [Try For Free On Any Single Device](http://lastpass.wo8g.net/3P7zrM) & Stay In Control Of Your Digital Data. #### 3 Reasons why I chose to personally use LastPass: 1\. It's easy to use - you can save passwords and usernames in one place, and they're automatically filled in when you go to log in. 2\. It's secure - your passwords are encrypted and stored on a secure server, so no one can access them without your master password. 3\. It's convenient - you can access your passwords from any computer or mobile device with an internet connection. Plus, there are browser extensions and app versions available for both Android and iOS devices. (specially if you are into marketing or social media management) [**Get LastPass Now!**](http://lastpass.wo8g.net/3P7zrM)  ### **2\. 1Password:** [Picture: 1Password homepage, “The world’s most-loved password manager”, shown on a MacBook Pro mockup.] [1Password](https://1password.com/) is a good choice for families since the tool offers deeper protection that can extend to your whole family. Moreover, the process of adding and managing new users is pretty simple.  Currently bragging more than 15 million worldwide users, 1Password has dedicated apps for IOS, Android, and Windows, and also offers extensions for every major browser.  Even though 1Password does not have a free version, it does offer a 30-day free trial with all its paid plans. The standard plan costs a monthly amount of $2.99 (billed yearly), and offers unlimited device syncing and passwords, 1GB file storage, 24/7 email support, and one digital wallet.  Meanwhile, the Family Plan costs $4.99 monthly (billed yearly) and allows users to share data and passwords with up to five members of their family, in addition to all the standard features. Users can create individualized permissions for each member and, add new users at a cost of $1 per user.  ### **3\. Dashlane:** [Picture: Pink Dashlane homepage with the headline “Take control of your data”, shown on a MacBook Pro mockup.] [Dashlane](https://www.dashlane.com/) is right up there with LastPass and 1Password in terms of platform support. In addition, the tool has excellent desktop storage. The standout Dashlane feature is the bulk password manager, which can reset several hundred passwords all at once.  Dashlane is simple to use, and particularly smart at using personal information for online forms. Also, the tool has a scanner that runs through the user’s email ID to make sure that no online accounts have been missed.  Unfortunately, Dashlane does not offer the most competitive prices. The Premium plan will cost you $60 per year if you pay the amount as a lump sum; if you decide to make monthly payments, this amount goes up to $78 per year. Even though the tool does have a free version, it is restricted to 50 credential sets, and does not allow for syncing among devices.  However, it must be noted that Dashlane offers unlimited VPN through its association with Hotspot Shield. This VPN service, itself, costs $96 annually, so, getting Hotspot Shield PLUS Dashlane at a yearly price of $60 (or even $78) is a real bargain.  ## **Final Word:** To sum up, as more and more people share and store sensitive information over the internet, a password manager that can help you shield your online accounts has become more important than ever. The three password managers discussed above not only produce complex passwords and store them for you, but also offer a host of other features that can ensure and enhance your online security.  [All articles](https://urbanpixel.io/blog) · [More on Reviews](https://urbanpixel.io/blog/category/reviews) On this page 1.
